SMBT Supports the Union City Society for Historic Preservation

Southern Michigan Bank & Trust is proud to support the Union City Society for Historical Preservation in their incredible journey to bring the Walsh and Engle Buggy House to life. This project celebrates not just a remarkable piece of local craftsmanship and a beautifully restored 1875 buggy - but the spirit of Union City itself.

As a bank deeply invested in the communities we serve, we believe preserving the past is one of the most powerful ways to shape a vibrant future. This new museum space, located next to the Hammond House, will be open for all to enjoy - inviting generations to connect with Union City’s rich heritage.

Elizabeth DiDonato, Union City Branch Manager and Buzz Leach, VP Wealth Management Officer presented the check for $2,500 to members of the Historical Preservation. We’re honored to play a part in this initiative!
