Southern Michigan Bank & Trust recently announced the promotion of Chad Perrine to Senior Vice President, Head of Wealth Management.
John Waldron, President and CEO of Southern Michigan Bank & Trust (SMBT) recently announced the promotion of Chad Perrine to Senior Vice President, Head of Wealth Management. In his new role, he will lead SMBT’s Wealth Management and Trust Department.
Perrine joined the bank in June 2024 as Vice President, Wealth Management Officer. Prior to his role with Southern, Perrine served as Vice President and Private Bank Team Lead at Huntington National Bank in the Great Lakes Region. Over his nine-year tenure at Huntington, he also held roles as Fiduciary Team Lead for Estate Settlement and Trust Advisor. Before entering the banking industry, Perrine practiced law as a general business and estate planning attorney in the Jackson area. He holds a Juris Doctor from Cooley Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Michigan State University.
“In a short time, Chad has made significant contributions to the Wealth Management team here at Southern,” said Waldron. “With his industry expertise, proven leadership experience, and legal background, he provides unique insight and strategic value to our clients and the organization. Our Wealth Management department has a strong future ahead.”
Perrine resides in Jackson with his wife, Angie, and their three children. Outside of work, he is actively involved in the community, serving as a member and former President of the Jackson Area Estate Planning Council; former Director and Board President of LifeSpan; Director of Family Services and Children’s Aid; and a volunteer for Junior Achievement.
SMBT Wealth Management will remain headquartered in Coldwater while continuing to serve clients across all regions of the bank.
