Important changes to your ATM / Debit Card
To keep your coverage the same, you must Opt In by August 15th.
- No New Fees
- Costs Nothing Unless You Use It
- Requires Opt-In
Currently, when you use your Debit Card we cover most purchases or ATM withdrawals even when you don’t have enough money in your checking account. That is changing on August 15th.
Because of new government regulation, you must first sign up to receive coverage for these transactions on your checking account in case of any unexpected expenses or mistakes in your checkbook.
IF YOU OPT IN:
Your debit card will work as it currently does. If we authorize reasonable debit card transactions that cause your account to fall into a negative balance, you will incur our normal paid item fee - the same as if we returned your check unpaid.
IF YOU DO NOT OPT IN:
If you do not choose to Opt In, as of August 15, 2010, we will no longer be able to provide overdraft coverage for any ATM or everyday debit card transactions that would cause your account to reach a negative balance. If there are insufficient funds in your account, the debit card or ATM transaction will be declined.
LET US HEAR FROM YOU
If you want the overdraft option for your debit/ATM card to continue uninterrupted, you must Opt In by August 13, 2010.
If you Opt Out or we don’t hear from you, as of August 13, 2010, your everyday debit card or ATM transactions will be denied if there is not enough money available in your account to cover a purchase or withdrawal.
